Zuhair Murad | Spring/Summer 2014: Couture

For me, Zuhair Murad is up there at the top of couture with Elie Saab. My two favourite designers both know exactly how to use luxurious, billowing fabrics and a fantastically excessive amount of embellishment. I also love that this collection features various different leaf-inspired gold belts, something that I think I'll be trying to find on the high street from now on. The gold and white dresses look as though they've fallen straight out of Greek mythology, whilst a true princess dress has manifested in the stunning lilac and gold strapless gown towards the end of the show. As usual, Zuhair Murad's collection is flawless, and I want it all.

Valentino | Spring/Summer 2014: Couture

From the beautiful snake-entwined oxblood dress at the start of the show to the overtly Rousseau-inspired finale gown, it is clear from both the dresses and the catwalk that Chiuri and Piccioli found their inspiration in the animal world for this collection. Many of the dresses are distinctly Valentino, whilst others play away from the usual conventions of soft detailing and often lace fabrics, for example the black dress with the oversized coat and the plain draping grey number. A stunning collection, the designers have produced a plethora of different skirt lengths and necklines, each look sure to whet the appetite of any couture lover.

Elie Saab | Spring/Summer 2014: Couture

I can't imagine my love for Elie Saab not lasting a lifetime. Perfect amounts of chiffon, sheerness, embellishment and general fairy tale beauty are what this designer does best, and he has certainly proved it once again in his latest collection. For me there is nothing not to love here; his necklines are a dream and I love the way that he consistently presents his dresses within their own colour palette, though the pale pinks and baby blues will always top my list. The whole collection is just divine.

Ulyana Sergeenko | Spring/Summer 2014: Couture

This collection has everything that Spring/Summer couture should have; luxurious fabrics, varied and bold silhouettes and innovative additions to classical pieces (see the Marilyn-esque number in picture three). I adore the combination of soft pastels with the harder emerald greens and deep navies, and the bow-skirts of Giambattista Valli's show seem here to stay as they were featured again on several of the skirts and dresses of Ulyana Sergeenko's collection. Other noteworthy items include the fantastic emerald flapper dress and the adorable ankle strap heels seen on many of the models; to die for.
