Giambattista Valli | Spring/Summer 2014: Couture
I'm not sure that there has ever been a Spring/Summer Couture collection more tailored to my every want and need. Not that I'll be purchasing anything of course, but a girl can dream. This collection presents such a fantastic range of silhouettes and I adore the bow-like skirts on many of the dresses. The contrast of the monochrome bases with the bold, colourful embellishments seen on many of the gowns is absolutely stunning, and truly perfect to help us with the transit from winter to spring. I am praying to see some of the Oscar attendees wearing some Giambattista Valli, as I think the designer has really outdone himself this season. Stunning mini skirts of excessive colour and strapless princess gowns fit for Grace Kelly, Giambattista Valli has reintroduced a major change in today's trends; say good-bye to your oversized boyfriend coats, femininity is on the up again.
