Benefit 'They're Real!' mascara, £19.50; Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, £25; Tanya Burr nail varnish - Penguin Chick £5.99; Tanya Burr lipgloss - Aurora, £6.99
As I said already, all of my February beauty favourites were purchased this month, however there is one old favourite in there. Benefit's 'They're Real' mascara is hands down the best mascara I have ever and probably will ever use. I had been using it for around two years straight until I ran out in November last year. Rather than repurchasing immediately, I figured I ought to try some cheaper drugstore mascaras in the interest of saving money, but it turns out that you really do get what you pay for. Nothing else has compared, even the legendary Maybelline The Falsies, which I really didn't get on with. I would highly recommend that if you don't have 'They're Real' in your stash already, you get yourself over to a Benefit counter, stat.
Onto the first time purchases. I've been meaning to try Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream for years now and it has not disappointed. I find it moisturises my skin really well both in the morning before putting my make up on, or at night after the rest of my skincare routine, however it is very heavy so be sure not to slap it on a minute before leaving the house. It also works incredibly as a lipbalm, so for this reason alone I would definitely get your hands on some.
Finally, we have the lovely Tanya Burr Lips and Nails range. Now I only have one product from each line, but that will not be all for the future. Again if you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen my manigram of me wearing Penguin Chick. Now I chip my nails pretty much as soon as I paint them. Nothing ever lasts completely for more than a whole day - until now. Penguin Chick stayed on my nails, almost entirely chipless for eight days. If that doesn't sell you, note the gorgeous colour and adorable name. Why haven't you bought it yet?
Next is the Tanya Burr lipgloss. It seems from all of the reviews running around the blogosphere, I am the only person who purchased Aurora. The most popular colours seem to be Picnic in the Park and Champagne Toast, and perhaps they will be on my To-Buy list the next time I have some spare cash, but for now I am so happy with the colour I picked. It is very pink and - as you've probably all heard by now - highly pigmented, but I've actually found it surprisingly wearable. The gloss is incredibly moisturising without feeling too sticky, and like the nail varnish has fantastic staying power. Plus Tanya herself said that its fast becoming her favourite here, so never mind putting your trust in me; I've been backed up by the Queen herself!
I've worn all of these products incessantly throughout February, and had lots of compliments on them all. Let me know what your beauty favourites of the last month have been and if you've tried any of these products! Also we only have five days left of Paris Fashion Week, so come March 6th I'll be back to usual blogging order. As much as I've loved writing on fashion season, it has been pretty relentless and I'm definitely looking forward to writing more beauty and lifestyle posts come next week. I also have some exciting news to share with you all, so make sure you follow me through the links below so you don't miss it!
