The Christmas Tag 2013

Now that my Christmas holidays are well and truly underway, I'm using all the extra time I have for blogging! I went on a slight Chanel-based blogging bonanza a few days ago, sharing my thoughts on their latest Paris-Dallas show and Karl Lagerfeld's newest short "The Return". Now I feel it is time to get back to more seasonal blog posts, and where better to begin than with the Christmas tag? So without further ado...

1. Favourite Winter Nail Polish: I have currently been loving NYC's '235 - Fine Red Wine'. It is a lovely dark red and stays on my nails better than any other brand. It also looks really cute and festive with Rimmel's Precious Stones in '002 - Ruby Crush' over the top.

2. Favourite Winter Lip Product: I am obsessive with my lip balm applications, and these last few months I have been using Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Intense Care' religiously. I've also been on the hunt for a dark red lipstick, unfortunately every one I sample is just too purple! I'm looking for a deep dark red shade à la Zoella and preferably for a high street price, so if any of you have any recommendations please leave them in the comments below!

3. Most Worn Winter Clothing Piece: It has got to be my mint embellished Topshop jumper that I blogged about back in October. I have lived in this as it goes with absolutely everything! Somehow despite wearing it incessantly, I don't have a photo of myself wearing the jumper (probably because its always covered by coats and scarves) so I've included the store photo. I've also recently bought another embellished Topshop jumper purely out of the success of the first one, which I've also posted a picture of below. I originally ordered a 10 in the peach jumper as I like my jumpers slightly oversized but I ended up exchanging it for a 16! It is a slightly awkward not-quite-cropped length so I would definitely recommend getting it a few sizes bigger.

4. Most Worn Winter Accessory: A tartan scarf from Primark that I bought last week; its already become my most worn scarf of the winter and it was only £4!

5. Favourite Winter Scent/Candle: I am completely obsessed with a candle that I was bought last Christmas but only started burning this winter. It is the 'Sparkling Spice Winter Warmer' by The Country Candle Company, available here. I tend to be very picky with fragrances and don't like a lot of the festive candles on the market but this one is absolutely gorgeous and is lasting a really long time.

6. Favourite Winter Beverage: I'm a big hot chocolate lover, I drink it all year round. However I do wish that I liked coffee at Christmas time as there always seem to be really tasty sounding seasonal options (gingerbread latte anyone?) This year's festive beverage of choice has got to be Starbucks' signature hazelnut hot chocolate.

7. All Time Favourite Christmas/Holiday Movie: My favourite ever Christmas film is The Muppet Christmas Carol, but it is very closely followed by both The Holiday and Love Actually. I also adore any New York based Christmas film, meaning Elf makes the list too.

8. Favourite Christmas/Holiday Song: There are two Christmas songs that I have been listening to on repeat this year, the first being Michael Buble's cover of 'Christmas', and the second is Ella Fitzgerald's cover of 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'.

9. Favourite Holiday Food/Treat: I actually really dislike most traditional Christmas food which is really frustrating as I'm such a festive person! But I am a raging chocaholic so selection boxes and chocolate coins make up for the lack of mince pies in my life.

10. Favourite Christmas Decoration: Fairy lights! I love them all year round but Christmas is a great opportunity to place them wherever possible.

11. What's at the Top of Your Christmas List? I don't have any one thing at the top of my list, but if you'd like to see what I'm asking Santa for more generally take a look at my festive wishlist!

12. What are your Plans for the Holidays? I have a very busy Christmas this year purely because most of my family are coming home! My Dad is visiting from Thailand so I'll be spending some of my Christmas with him and his side of the family, and my Nanna and her partner are also visiting from Spain so they will be with my mum and I on Christmas day too. I'll also be making a trip up to Birmingham to see my boyfriend a few days after the big day; hooray for three Christmasses!

Writing this post has made me feel even more festive; if you do the Christmas tag, do send me a link to your post in the comments below as I love reading other people's answers!
