When booking my train tickets home last weekend, I was getting incredibly excited about the wonderful blog post I was going to write about all of my adventures in my hometown. Unfortunately, a lot of my grand plans didn't happen, meaning this post isn't going to be quite as life changing as planned.
As those at university will know, this week is reading week (the big girl's equivalent to half term). After a truly smashing Halloween party last Friday dressed as a zombie ballerina, I went home for a few days of R&R. There were roast dinners, screenings of Elf and The Holiday, shameless selfies, and scrumptious lunches at Dot Teas in Westbourne.

Despite not doing anything for Bonfire Night, my lazy week was truly lovely and just what I needed after a fairly hectic few weeks at uni. It also allowed me to continue my premature festivity without being told off (my boyfriend is insistent that I can't start celebrating Christmas until November 30th, scrooge). Watching Christmas films as well as having a television, thus allowing me to watch all of this year's Christmas ads has kept me in the festive spirit, whilst probably keeping me from noticing how unproductive my week was. My favourite ad so far has got to be Marks and Spencer's, because Rosie, David and Helena in the space of three minutes is pretty undeniable.
I've also been addicted to this cover of The Waterboys' 'How Long Will I Love You?' by Ellie Goulding. I am a huge fan of hers and this song was featured in Richard Curtis' latest film About Time. It has something very sweet about it and I only wish it was longer, for I've had it on repeat incessantly.
Apologies if this blog post was a little dull, I'm not sure that the wonder of family, food and film comes across online, but I can't help but think that a couple of days of rejuvenating is exactly what everybody needs now and then. Reading or not I hope you guys are all having a lovely week, and hopefully I'll have something more exciting to blog about soon!
