As some of you may know, I recently came second in a shoe design competition, hosted by Upper Street Shoes (an amazing company for which you design a shoe online, and pay them to make it for you; expensive but magical) and WIWT (What I Wore Today - its like facebook for fashion. Amazing.) Although I was very disappointed that I came second by only thirty likes, I could not ignore the insane amount of support I was given by family and friends. My shoe currently has 521 likes, so the fact that that many people took a moment out of their day to click the button was amazing! The prize for first place was to have the shoe made for free by Upper Street Shoes, but unfortunately, narrowly missing out has left me shoeless. Perhaps if everyone that liked it wanted to donate 50p, we could purchase them... Though for some reason, I don't think they'll go for that.
Back to Bilson, it came to my attention a few months ago that she designed a collection for Shoe Mint in America, and whilst I was floating around on British Vogue's website last night, I discovered that it has debuted in the UK in collaboration with Stylist Pick! You can imagine my excitement; favourite person, gorgeous shoes, cheap (ish). And by coincidence the shoe that I designed was in fact inspired by a pair of Christian Louboutins that I spotted her wearing at the CW Upfront After Party back in May.
With flats from £38 and heels from only £50, I am definitely already plotting what to spend my student loan on (old habits die hard) These are a few of my favourites...
